Privacy / plain language

Your case is not ad inventory.

I collect the minimum needed to answer a case and deliver an audit. The free scan does not store your URL. This site sets no analytics or advertising cookies. There is no newsletter.

Who is responsible

Appeal Ledger is an independent research and writing service operated by Uday, based in India. For privacy questions or requests, email support@merchantfix.online.

What the free scan does

When you submit a store address, the server fetches that public page, runs the checks, and returns the result. The URL is not written to a database and is not attached to your identity. The scan does not set a cookie and does not ask for an email address.

Like most web servers, the hosting infrastructure may keep short-lived request logs that include an IP address, a timestamp, and the requested path for security and operations. I do not use those logs to build a profile, and I do not combine them with a scan result.

What a paid case collects

  • Your email address, so I can reply and deliver the audit.
  • The public store URL you give me.
  • Where you are in the process (first appeal, already appealed, denied, or not sure).
  • The notice or appeal text you choose to paste. Please do not paste passwords, two-factor codes, or API keys.
  • A record of the audit and our correspondence, so I can keep track of what I advised.

I do not ask for your Merchant Center password, a two-factor code, a Shopify login, or access to your payment dashboard. If a request appears to come from me asking for those, treat it as suspicious and verify by emailing the address above.

Why I use it

  • To answer your enquiry and confirm whether the case fits.
  • To deliver the audit, the draft, and the follow-up you paid for.
  • To keep a record of the advice and handle a refund or dispute.
  • To meet a legal or accounting obligation, if one applies.

I do not sell your data, rent it, or use it for advertising. I do not add you to a marketing list because you sent a case.

Who sees it

The people and services needed to run the business: an email provider to send and receive mail, a hosting provider for the site, and — if you pay by hosted checkout — the payment processor. They process the data for those purposes, not for their own marketing. I may disclose data if the law requires it, or to protect a legal claim. I do not share your notice or audit with other merchants.

Some providers may process data outside India. Where that happens, I rely on the provider's contractual safeguards and keep the data limited to what the service needs.

How long I keep it

Case records are kept for 12 months after the last contact, then deleted, unless a legal, tax, or dispute obligation requires a longer period. Free scan URLs are not retained. You can ask for earlier deletion at any time, and I will confirm when it is done.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no analytics, advertising, or social-media cookies. It does not load a pixel, a session-recording tool, or a chat widget. If that changes, this page and the consent mechanism will change before the tracking does.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Case records are stored in a restricted-access file on the server with owner-only permissions. Access is limited to me. No system is perfect; if I become aware of a breach that affects your data, I will tell you and the relevant authority where required.

Your choices

  • Ask what personal data I hold about you.
  • Ask for a correction.
  • Ask for deletion, subject to legal retention duties.
  • Withdraw consent for future contact.
  • Complain to the appropriate data-protection authority in your jurisdiction.

Email support@merchantfix.online with the request. I reply within five business days. I may ask for enough information to verify that the request is yours, but I will not ask for a password.

Children

The service is for businesses and is not directed at anyone under 18. I do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects your data, I will update the effective date and, where the change is material, tell active clients by email. See also the terms and refund policy.
